Beta Bar: Celio Edition
The magic of the in between
Hello from the hub,
this Friday we’re back with Beta Bar, our traveling format that turns a neighbourhood bar into a place to meet, listen, and share stories.
A simple gesture to slow down, be present, and rebuild a sense of village in the city.

This edition was born from a special collaboration with Roman Radar and is dedicated to the Celio as seen by those who truly know it.
Celio is one of Rome’s most central neighborhoods, often passed through but rarely lived in. Today it’s heavily shaped by tourism and short-term rentals, with fewer and fewer everyday, authentic places left. We have planned a little exhibition that shows this places and their stories inside the bar; this is almoust entirely the work of Giulia Kappelin Cingolani, a resident of the neighbourhood. Without people who live a place every day, events like this simply couldn’t exist. Rebuilding the village always starts from within.
The bar hosting us isn’t “brutto” at all. Quite the opposite.
It opens onto an incredible square with views of the Colosseum and San Giovanni in Laterano. At first glance, this might seem to go against our usual instinct. But instead of changing the place, we chose to tell it differently: through a small exhibition that brings forward the voices, faces, and stories of the neighborhood itself.

Ciao dall’hub,
questo venerdì torniamo con Beta Bar, il nostro format itinerante che trasforma un bar di quartiere in un luogo dove incontrarsi, ascoltare e condividere storie. Un semplice gesto per rallentare, essere presenti e ricostruire un senso di comunità nella città.
Questa edizione nasce da una collaborazione speciale con Roman Radar ed è dedicata al Celio visto da chi lo conosce davvero.
Il Celio è uno dei quartieri più centrali di Roma, spesso attraversato ma raramente vissuto. Oggi è fortemente influenzato dal turismo e dagli affitti a breve termine, con sempre meno luoghi autentici e quotidiani. Percio`abbiamo organizzato una piccola mostra che mostra questi luoghi e le loro storie all’interno del bar; questo è quasi interamente opera di Giulia Kappelin Cingolani , residente nel quartiere. Senza le persone che vivono un luogo ogni giorno, eventi come questo semplicemente non potrebbero esistere. La ricostruzione del villaggio inizia sempre dall’interno.
Il bar che ci ospita non è affatto “brutto”. Al contrario.
Si affaccia su una piazza incredibile con vista sul Colosseo e su San Giovanni in Laterano. A prima vista, questo potrebbe sembrare contrario al nostro istinto abituale. Ma invece di cambiare il luogo, abbiamo scelto di raccontarlo in modo diverso: attraverso appunto questa piccola mostra che mette in primo piano le voci, i volti e le storie del quartiere stesso.
